Leisure and Community Projects In Buckinghamshire The practice has a long history of providing Architectural Services for both Leisure facilities and Community buildings. Planning processes can often be complex and is frequently being undertaken by volunteer committees, with little experience in the construction industry.
Our method of working which involves making time to listen to our clients' needs is well suited to community projects where there is often input from many interests. Our skill is to understand these different priorities and shape them into elegant practical and sustainable solutions.
We are able to provide advice and support through the planning process and to provide information in order to obtain initial funding and advise on the need for additional services, in order to get planning permission, these will include but are not limited to Sustainability Statements, Energy Statements, Sustainable Drainage schemes, Tree Surveys, Arboricultural reports, Landscape Schemes, Heritage Statements, Listed Building Appraisals, Protected Species Surveys, Ecological Surveys, Flood Risk Assessments, Planning Obligation heads of agreements.

Proposed Thames Boat Museum The team here was asked to prepare a feasibility study to create a new boat museum on a cut off part of the Thames in Pangbourne.
This museum would take home for traditional steam launches and although it was heavily supported the project was never completed because of insufficient funds.
Art Therapy Boat House, Anglesey This was commissioned by an artist once we had designed an extension and adaption on a derelict shed. This shed was on an estuary into an art therapy studio. It was located adjacent to the Menai Brdige and was initially prompted to use local stone for creation to stay as close to the original design as possible.
Bury Lake Young Mariners (BLYM) Once we had gained planning permission from the Three Rivers District Council we developed plans to improve the current buildings in this sailing group. As the group regularly trains groups of schools, guides, disabled children and scouts they needed buildings they could rely on all year round.
The new buildings will help meet their growing need for space, storage and will need less repairs over time. The training lecture rooms and changing facilities are also improved. While we wait for funding to be finalised the construction is in limbo. We have sponsored four of the residents ourselves from 4 of the hostels we designed at the sailing course.
Day Care Extension A day care centre for the elderly, situated between the Old Town of Hemel Hempstead and Gadebridge Park, needed extending to create more space. To accommodate the difference in height between the two buildings we added a gentle three sided ramp within the building.
The barrel vault roof light allowed sunlight to leak into the building and when paired with bright interior design, makes a much happier and pleasant location for the residents. Our very own Maurice Phillips was invited to join the Board of the Charity since he has been providing entertainment at the centre for a while. He is now our secretary and gets regular updates on the centre for us to share.
Beale Centre This project needed us to work around a sensitive site in the Thames Valley area which was surrounded by mature trees and a lake. We had been asked to design timber frames and a cedar shingled roofed structure that was made of hexagons between the trees. Each of these hexagon houses had potential to be used to various reasons such as a café, lecture theatre, display area and office.
